Kitarou, a ghost, spends his afterlife helping humans in need of his skills. He thwarts the plans of evil spirits who live to torment humanity.
A truly bizzarre anime with a flavour of traditional Japanese folklore. The boy, Kitarou, encounters various forms of evil with his father, who happens to be an eyeball.
